ABOUT US
The Pierce County Historical Association (PCHA) is an all volunteer, nonprofit organization begun in 1941. We are affiliated with the Wisconsin Historical Society and belong to the Wisconsin Council for Local History. Our mission is to preserve Pierce County's heritage by promoting the study, appreciation and interpretation of the county's history and related local and regional histories
PCHA collects and preserves archival materials, sponsors and supports various programs, events, and activities of historical interest, and educates the public about Pierce County history. We operate three historic sites, have published eight volumes of Pierce County Heritage books, and have reproduced three historic plat maps and various other materials of historic interest to the area.
Our board of five elected officers and seven directors meets the second Thursday of January, March, May, July, September, and November. We hold our annual meeting on the first Sunday in April, unless Easter falls on that day. All meetings are open to the public.
PCHA has affiliated chapters throughout the county dedicated to preserving the history of specific communities, townships, villages, and cities.
